FMC Devens Inmate Art

Exhibit at the Rueben Hoar Library, Littleton MA

October 3 – 31, 2019 | Reception on October 15 from 6 PM to 8 PM

The Federal Medical Center, Devens (FMC Devens), is a federal prison in Massachusetts for male inmates requiring long-term medical or mental health care. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice.

The first three images below were completed by three separate inmates who challenged one another to complete a drawing using the same subject.  FMC Devens has very talented artists who use their abilities to bring a sliver of joy to other inmates and families, while showcasing their accomplishments. Several pieces in this exhibit were created by the inmates who took the Introduction to Drawing course this last year.

At the reception on October 15th from 6 PM to 8 PM the inmates’ teacher will be present to answer questions and talk about his students’ work.
